    Practicing Self Compassion

How many times a day do you berate yourself? I recognize oftentimes I am thinking how I could have and should have done things better or different.

When I read this article on SELF COMPASSION something just clicked and I realized..Yes I need compassion for others but also myself.

Today make an effort to be kind to yourself, forgive yourself and think good thoughts about yourself!

    Sufi Tradition

An old Sufi tradition advises us to speak only after our words have managed to pass through four gates. At the first gate, we ask ourselves, “Are these words true?” If so, we let them pass on; if not, back they go. At the second gate we ask; “Are they necessary?” At the third gate we ask; “Are they beneficial?” and at the fourth gate, we ask, “Are they kind?” If the answer to any of these is no, then what you are about to say should be left unsaid.

I have a sticky on my computer that helps me remember to practice this wise advise:

    Is it True?
    Is it Kind?
    Is it Beneficial?
    Is it Necessary?

    Much love and sunshine,
